Behind Hybrid

Behind the Creation of “Hybrid”  from the upcoming creative Young Smoke

How has the reaction to your project been so far?

Its been alright, more and more people are starting to see it, its just a matter time right now.

How long did it take to make your project from start to finish, recording-wise?

it took about 1 and a half to finish due to us just being busy with school but now shits bouta change

What kind of ‘sound’, production wise, did you have in your mind, prior to entering the studio?

i wanted the ep to have a few different vibes, like a west coast and underground kinda feel but also sum to hype you up too

What kind of input did the producer have during the process

And are you pleased with the final outcome? (sound – production wise)

since my producer MatreeBeats made the all the beats and mixed all the vocals he was the one to say when a song was done and when we should upload it. but yeah i say it turned out they way we both wanted it.

Did the producer / (you) use any (weird) experimental mixing and/or recording techniques?

well each song we make we try to add more new sounds eachtime, we try to improve my vocals or change it depending on how we want it to sound

Please inform us about your favourite songs and lyrical highlights and why?

my favourite songs from the ep have to be 3 a.m. and Out Tha Bottle. on 3 a.m. i feel like i improved my flow and lyrics from last year when i made Hybrid.

Any overall theme of mood that you’re trying to capture with the project?

the overall theme of the EP has multiple, hence the name Hybrid. i chose it to be like that after making Jumanji and realizing it wont go with what my original plan was, which was to be a dark underground ep. so i just changed it and it just fit with the name.

How would you describe the sound of your tape to any potential new fan?

i would say The Hybrid EP is combination of everyone most people would enjoy from a nice west coast vibe, too griddy underground gangster shit.

Who are your influences and heroes? (music-wise)

id say my biggest influencers would be J.I.D. and Shoreline Mafia. I get a lot of my sound of off them.

If there’s anything you’d like to add, say, please do:
