We got a chance to talk with Logan Write about his new project
How has the reaction to your project been so far?
The reaction seems to be goin pretty well so far, gettin some good streams on spotify and the fans I talked to seem to enjoy the project.
How long did it take to make your project from start to finish, recording-wise?
I would say it took me about 5 months total to record, write and master all parts of the project.
What kind of ‘sound’, production wise, did you have in your mind, prior to entering the studio?
The sound I was aiming for was supposed to be more dark or maybe night sounding I guess, the opposite of a bright vibrant song.
What kind of input did the producer have during the process
And are you pleased with the final outcome? (sound – production wise)
I worked with both producers on this project and we kept in touch closely, we worked together pretty much to playlist beats and fix levels.
Did the producer / (you) use any (weird) experimental mixing and/or recording techniques?
I didn’t use any weird recording techniques but I did mix some weird low octave vocals in midnight and added this telephone chant behind the chorus in alone.
Please inform us about your favorite songs and lyrical highlights and why?
My favorite songs I made on this project were probably Midnight, and still the same.
Favorite bar off this project was probably “Lawless, Flawless, Gettin B-I-G like wallace.”
Any overall theme of mood that you’re trying to capture with the project?
My projects are always affected by the time, whats goin on in my headspace and everything in the world.
This kinda led me to create this night like mood.
Does your vision for coming up with music get affected at all by time?
Nah, besides overnighters and completely rewritin Still the Same, I got nothin.
How would you describe the sound of your tape to any potential new fan?
My sound on this tape has like a “past 12 am vibe” with a hype beginning and an ending thats just honest and real.
Who are your influences and heroes? (music-wise)
My influences? I would say my biggest influence is Mac Miller, after that Id put Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and J. Cole
